La presa is a large resavour, essentially a lake. We decided on my last weekend her before i head to the states to take the kids camping. I am not a huge camping fan, but it is tolerable. We loaded up the three kids and arranged to meet another family and headed out.
We didn't hit a campground or anything, we got in a boat, and found a flat spot and set up camp. Unfortunately we were somewhat ill prepared. We forgot water (we did have juice and soda) Me and Cesar both thought the other person was bringing blankets and pillows, so for the 5 of us we had 2 blankets and 2 pillows. The other people had never even been camping and did not bring a tent, so we had to change the sleeping arrangements. We had a large tent for Me, Cesar and Daniel and a small tent for Cesar Jr and Brisa, but we ended up sleeping Me, Daniel, Brisa, the other lady and her 3 girls in the big tent. Cesar and Cesar in the little tent and the other man slept in a hammock. It got super cold at night and i had given the blankets to the kids. So i was sleeping on the tent floor with my sweatshirt covering me. Needless to say i drifted in and out of sleep praying for morning.
All in all the kids had fun, and i wasn't totally miserable except for in the night time. We will probably do it again and plan better next time....

How fun! Even with the mishaps. Next time you'll be better prepared. :)
We're hoping to go camping again with the entire family before the rain season starts. I am super excited and can't wait. :)
I loved going camping as a kid every summer. And no matter how prepared you are something always goes wrong, but that just makes things more fun! Looks like you guys had a great time.
Thanks for that! We've been wanting to go camping, but I get hung up on the whole "no campground" thing. So it really is that one can just set up a tent in any public (or at least non-private) piece of ground? Excellent. Maybe this year we'll finally do it! Thanks for giving me a little more momentum!
Jill, i hear you can even go to the beach and camp (not sure if you are close) i would feel a bit silly setting up camp on a public beach, but people do it. There were a lot of cows around us, which made me wonder if we were on private property or if cows can just graze wherever (probably the latter) regardless we had a good time
Let us know when you go again, Lily is almost big enough to sleep in a tent with us. And we love camping so we will come well prepared.
Brings back a memory of when my husband and I had just started dating, and we went with some friends to camp at "Los Azufres". We never got around to pitching a tent. My husband and I had one sleeping bag between us, and we squeezed in together and even then we just barely kept warm. Quite the adventure!
Rebecca, you're a real trooper! I don't think I would ever do that. I'm sure the kids loved it!
